My Crazy Morning!

Before I start telling about my morning- there is something about me that you must know, to fully understand this story...Every morning I set not one, not two, but THREE alarms. Yes, three. And why do I set three alarms you ask? I set the first one about thirty minutes before I HAVE to wake up. The first one is to half wake me out of my slumber, and just in case I am feeling ambitious I have the option to get out of bed and get an early start on my day. (Side note: I have not once- NEVER gotten out of bed when the first alarm goes off- yet I still continue to set it just in case one day I find an extra burst of energy and WANT to get up before the required time.) The second alarm is set about five minutes before the third one. The second one is to let me know that I only have five more minutes in my warm and amazingly comfortable bed. :( Then finally the third alarm is to let me know I have to get up NOW or else I won't make it to class on time.
This morning I had a test at 7:30 a.m. (very early!) So last night I went to bed early (as in 11:45) so I could wake up on time, and not be tired for my test. SO, this morning I hear my first alarm go off. I reached up and turned it off. about fifteen mintues later the second one went off. As I was waiting for the third alarm to go off I fell back asleep- which wouldn't have been a problem, except the third alarm didn't go off! The next thing I knew, Emily was saying "Nicole, isn't it 7:45?" I jumped (literally) out of bed, freaking out, I ran to my closet grabbed a sweatshirt, some pants off the ground, put on some boots, grabbed my backpack and ran out the door. You think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. Did I brush my hair? No. Did I brush my teeth? No. Did I put on deoderant? No. Did I even put a shirt on underneath my swe atshirt? No. Did I even look in the mirror? No. Anyway, I got to campus at 7:55, which goes to show just how fast I really ran out of my house. I got to class and 8:00, I was praying that my professor would let me take the test- which she did. I personally think she was a little scared of the mess of the person that I was, and thought that if she didn't let me take it, she would be attacked. I only had twenty mintues instead of fifty to take it, but I still finished- and got an 89% to boot. (Not that an 89% is that great, but it's better than the 0% I would have gotten if Emily hadn't awakened me.) Emily is now officially my most favorite beyond favorite roommate!

So, I'm not exaclty sure how this is going to work out. My roommate Kjarinda convinced me to create a blog- so I decided to try it. Most likely it's not going to be anything exciting, revolutionary, or profound but here it goes...

Things I've learned at Utah State!
  • That although my life is not mystical- Caitlin's is!
  • Sian is the energizer bunny! She requires no sleep, and NEVER EVER slows down. Seriously.
  • Never tell your roommates when you are going on a date, or you might be stalked. (Huh Riss?!)
  • We don't plan. . . We plot! (Sade & Candace, that was for you.)
  • Candace acts like a 5 year old when asked to take a "family" portrait. You would think that since she is 18 years old, all her jitter-bugs from her toddler years would be gone. But nope, she still has plenty left.
  • Never let Emily and Sarah clean the sink at Angie's by THEMSELVES. They get quite sick afterwords.
  • Never allow Sian to obtain a key to your apartment cause the next thing you know she will be sleeping in your bed, power boxing you while in the shower, and invading your privacy!
  • Don't get your hopes up for receiving mail. They will be dashed.
  • Don't try to pick up men at Olive Garden- no bueno.
  • Sian is just as big of a cry baby as I am, actually she is probably worse.
  • Utah State Aggies basketball is the best!
  • No matter how many times I turn the thermostat down, inevitably someone else will turn it back up.
  • Also, no matter how many times I remind people to turn off the lights when they leave the room, I always have to do it myself. Now I know why my dad was always bugged by it. It drives me absolutly crazy!
  • 7:30 a.m. classes are not the best idea for someone like me.
  • And finally, my roommates are the best! Couldn't ask for better ones.
